Dell Rapids Rape Suspect Faces Several New Charges

Local News

A Dell Rapids man, who is accused of preying on young girls during sleepovers, faces additional charges.

Court documents say 47-year-old Torin Lodmell would take off their blankets, try to pull down their pants and touch them inappropriately.  An indictment says one of the alleged victims was under the age of ten.

Lodmell was originally charged with one count of 4th degree rape.  A Minnehaha County grand jury has decided there is enough evidence for him to face additional charges.  Lodmell is now charged with 4th degree rape, sexual contact with a child, 3 counts of attempted sexual contact and five counts of attempted rape.

According to South Dakota Savin, Lodmell got out of jail on Thursday.
