Daugaard: Flags To Be Flown Half-Staff On Monday In Honor Of Turbiville

All flags in South Dakota will be flown at half-staff on Monday in honor of state Rep. Chuck Turbiville. 

Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced the request on Thursday morning. Turbiville, the former Mayor of Deadwood, died on Sunday. Flags will be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. to sunset on Monday. 

Also, a public visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. MST at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deadwood. The funeral will be on Monday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. MST at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center with a military burial at 12:30 p.m. MST at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis. 

The family is requesting donations be made to The Mayor’s Fund instead of flowers. Turbiville created The Mayor’s Fund.
