Cleaning Up After JazzFest

Local News

JazzFest has ended and crews are hard at work cleaning up Yankton Trail Park.

Volunteers were out early Sunday trying to get the park back to normal.

Some volunteers were picking up trash off the ground. Others were helping tear down the stage. Vendors were also taking down their stands.

The executive director of JazzFest, Rob Joyce, was helping with the clean up process.

He says so far teardown has gone smoothly.

“The stage starts getting taken down in the middle of the night. All the tents come down pretty quickly. It just takes us a while to pick up some of the trash and make sure we get things ready for the next year. We’re usually done before noon,” Joyce said.

Joyce says about 100 people helped with the clean up.
