CBS This Morning Features Emily's Story

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - After sharing her story about the death of her daughter with our KELOLAND News viewers, Angela Kennecke will next bring the message to a national audience.

She's traveling to New York City for an appearance Friday morning on CBS This Morning.

Angela lost her 21-year-old daughter, Emily, to fentanyl poisoning in May.  She spoke publicly for the first time about the tragedy in a series of stories on Wednesday in the hope of erasing the stigma surrounding addiction.

Angela and her family have set up a charity in Emily's honor called Emily's Hope to connect people struggling with addiction to the help they need.

On Thursday morning, CBS' Gayle King shared part of Emily's story with viewers.  Watch that clip below.
