Each day gets closer to the upcoming Art For Arthritis Gala, and with the winning designs finally picked, it’s time to take the next step.

Two designs were picked from each competing group this year. Wednesday, they began assembling the pieces at Faini Designs Jewelry Studio.

This is an exciting time for the folks over at Faini’s as it’s time to get to work on making dreams a reality.

“We get to show them what we do, and how we can take their dream, their vision and make it into a beautiful piece of jewelry,” Owner of Faini Designs Jewlery Studio Gerard Faini said.

The jewelry will eventually be auctioned off as a part of the 2019 Art For Arthritis Gala.
The winner of the 18 and up age group, Monet Ernste, got to experience, first hand, what it’s like to bring her creation to life.

“I’m honored to be a part of it. It was something new, totally for me, but it was a lot of fun and I’m happy to have worked with Faini,” Design Student Monet Ernste said.

“She’s going to be able to pick her own chain. Talked about making a little change –  a little white, a little yellow… how the stones are set,” Faini said.

It’s an experience not many get to have.

“It’s amazing, I guess, I’m just like anyone else: you look at something and you don’t have any idea how it was created or what all went into it, but it’s amazing in the end to see it,” Ernste said.

And she even got to lend a helping hand.

“A little nerve-wracking; worried I was going to mess it up, but it’s amazing, yeah,” Ernste said.

At the end of the day, Gerard and his team will take care of the rest.

“We’re going to finish the jewelry; finish the two winners. And, we’re actually going to have them back and let them wear it, put it on them and let them see it. Let them get a feel for what they created and an appreciation for what they’ve done,” Faini said.

Creating an experience more valuable than any piece of jewelry.

“They’re going to fall in love with what they did and that’s what jewelry is. You fall in love with your work and we’re going to make it beautiful,” Faini said.

The other winner is scheduled to make their piece next Tuesday. If you’d like to learn more about the Art for Arthritis Gala, you can click right here.
