Breweries See Bright Future With Increased Production Cap

Local News

A new law is helping microbreweries in South Dakota dream big.

Fernson and Remedy hope to delight beer drinkers through their breweries and taprooms for many years to come. This March, Governor Dennis Daugaard signed Senate Bill 173, raising the cap on microbreweries from 5,000 barrels a year to 30,000.

The move gives each company options for future growth. Tyler Jepperson with Remedy says his company is currently focused on serving customers in Sioux Falls the best they can.

“That’s the town we love. That’s how we want to help develop the culture around here. That’s honestly, born and raised here, I want to help contribute to the culture of Sioux Falls,” Jepperson said.

That doesn’t mean Remedy isn’t planning for the future. Hear more from the business and Fernson Brewing Company in tonight’s Eye on KELOLAND.
