UPDATE: Pursuit ends in crash Monday afternoon in Sioux Falls

Authorities have released more details on a crash that happened Monday afternoon in Sioux Falls.

A Highway Patrol officer tried to make a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Western Avenue and Burnside Street. Authorities say the vehicle did not stop and a pursuit ensued.

The driver of the Grand Am lost control near the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Sixth Street and struck a light pole.

Charges are pending against the driver and a passenger in the vehicle. Both were treated for minor injuries at the scene.


Sioux Falls Police and the South Dakota Highway Patrol are investigating a crash involving a car and a pole that happened Monday afternoon.

The crash happened near 6th Street and Prairie Avenue. KELOLAND News reached out to both departments, and investigators are still working on gathering more information about what happened.
