OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Officials are investigating the deaths of two people after a shooting near Offutt Air Force Base.

The Omaha World-Herald reports Col. Gavin Marks said the shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rising View community in the Omaha suburb of Bellevue just west of the base.

Officials said an active duty member of the military and his or her spouse died in the shooting, but few details were released.

Marks, who is the commander at the 55th Wing at Offutt, says authorities don’t believe there is any threat to the community from the shooting.
