Seventy-eight high school and college golfers are taking part in the first-ever Sanford Golf Junior Tour event Monday.
The young men and women are competing to be honorary observers at the Sanford International tournament in September. The PGA Tour Champions event is only 49 days away now. Levi Pole with the Sanford POWER Golf Academy is excited for the pros to come to town. He’s also enjoying today’s youth competition.
“So the Sanford International is coming up. We’re excited about that. We wanted to give an opportunity for people in this area to really play the game of golf at an elite level and give kids a chance to compete,” Pole said.
The Sanford International will take place at Minnehaha Country Club from September 17-23.
