Bear “not where it was supposed to be” at Great Plains Zoo

There was an issue with a bear at the Great Plains Zoo Tuesday afternoon. 

Zoo officials said “a bear was not where it was supposed to be.” Officials declared a “Code 1” which alerts the public in the zoo. 

Officials stressed the bear was never loose in the public facility. 

BREAKING: At least seven injured in Colorado school shooting

Two suspects are in custody and at least seven students are injured after a shooting at STEM school in Highlands Ranch, near Denver.

The victims were taken to area hospitals. When officers arrived – they could still hear shots being fired.

There could be a third suspect.

The school has close to 2,000 students….kindergarten through 12th grades.

Trade negotiations with the Chinese will resume on later this week in Washington.

Trump complained the talks were proceeding too slowly.

WASHINGTON D.C. BUREAU: Infrastructure plan

Congressional Democrats and the President agree…America needs a $2-trillion dollar facelift—for infrastructure:  roads, bridges, airports, schools, even high-speed internet. 

But how do we pay for all that? 

As they emerged from last week’s meeting with the President, Democratic leaders said the President has promised to come up with some ideas for footing the bill.  But Morgan Wright reports some Republican lawmakers doubt a series of White House meetings will find the $2-trillion; they suggest Congress hold hearings to develop sensible ways to pay for the plan.

Your Local Election Headquarters: School board election

Absentee voting started Monday for the Sioux Falls School District’s school board election.

You can vote from 7:30 until 5 each weekday at the Instructional Planning Center through May 20th.

Then, election day is May 21st, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. across 13 voting centers.
