26-year-old man arrested after burglary attempt in Lincoln County

Authorities have taken a 26-year-old into custody.

26-year-old Oleg Kovnir of Sioux Falls was arrested without incident. 

Authorities say they received information that the suspect was actively breaking into homes in an area just off 472nd Ave. in the northern part of Lincoln County.

Around noon, deputies found the suspect’s vehicle at a rural residence a few miles south of Bakers Crossing Golf Course.

Kovnir was in the home and authorities were able to establish a perimeter around the house.

Around 5:30 p.m., Kovnir was taken into custody.

The investigation is still on going and other charges are possible.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, a suspect has been taken into custody.

Authorities in Lincoln County are on scene at a residence northwest of Worthing on 275th St.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the situation is related to the recent daytime burglaries in the area.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area.
