There will soon be a new place for teens to hangout or spend time after school. LifeLight has moved its headquarters to central Sioux Falls and the plans include a youth center.
You’ll find the new LifeLight headquarters in downtown Sioux Falls at 13th and Duluth in the Pettigrew Heights neighborhood. Soon it will also be a gathering place for kids.
“A place to come after school, that’ll have activities and also be able to sit down and do homework, there will be programming here that will be focused on the gospel, but in addition to that, regardless of what your beliefs are, this will be a home for kids where they can come, they can get the help they need, and the mentoring that they need,” CEO LifeLight, Josh Brewer said.
It’s something CEO of Lifelight Josh Brewer hopes will make a difference in the community.
“We simply want to be here for those kids that are in need and that we can provide for their needs and that we can disciple and mentor them to be leaders in our community,” Brewer said.
While the first floor of the building is under construction right now, it will soon have a stage and be an event center for the youth.
“The second level will be home to a lounge and game room for teens, where we will also have a little area to serve food and drinks out of for teens.” Brewer said.
The top floor will be home to LifeLight staff offices.
“The kids here are going to be drawn to it and like what they see, activities to do, computers to use, music to hear, people to talk to and in all of that environment, they’re going to know who Jesus is,” Pastor First Christian Church, Dennis Lake said.
Looking forward to helping kids in the community.
“We just want it to be a place for teens to come and hangout, where we can have programming to get them the help that they need as underprivileged kids in our community,” Brewer said.
Brewer says they already are starting to plan some events for September.
