LGBTQ Books Under Fire At Orange City Library

A group in Orange City, Iowa is advocating changes to the city’s public library policy in an effort to label pro-LGBTQ books and move them onto separate shelves.

The petition calls for books at the town’s public library to be rated in a similar fashion to the Motion Picture Association of America film rating system. Organizers also want the books to be labeled, placed into a different section, along with a stop to the purchasing of new LGBTQ-friendly titles.

Austin Kopnitsky with KCAU-TV visited the northwest Iowa city to talk with those for and against the proposed changes.
