Law Enforcement Climbing To Rooftops To Support Special Olympics South Dakota

News

Law enforcement from the Sioux Falls area will be on three HyVee rooftops this weekend raising money for Special Olympics

Members of Sioux Falls Police, the Department of Corrections, the Highway Patrol, ATF and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will be taking part in “Cop On A Rooftop” from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday. The goal is to raise $10,000 for Special Olympics athletes in South Dakota.

“We’re always trying to fundraise to get them equipment. Help them with their travel expenses so that they can go to different parts of the state, parts of the country, in fact parts of the world to go to world games. Helping them out is what we’re here for,” Captain Meridith Jones, with the State Penitentiary, said.

The Hy-Vee locations participating in Cop On A Rooftop in Sioux Falls will be 39th & Minnesota, 49th & Louise, and 26th & Marion stores.
