The upcoming winter storm is shaping up as the biggest story this week. KELOLAND’s team of  meteorologists have been tracking the storm since last week and have the latest updates.

With a storm approaching, state and federal officials decided to cancel one of the flood insurance assistance meetings. The meeting planned for Wednesday in Brookings has been cancelled. However the North Sioux City meeting Tuesday will still happen at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

Monday night, the Sioux Falls School District tentatively approved a budget for fiscal year 2020. It includes a 2.75 percent pay raise for teachers, as well as changes to special education and fewer education assistants. Final approval will happen in July.  

A KELOLAND doctor who was once addicted to opioids is now giving others hope. KELOLAND’s Kelli Volk has the story on a Watertown optometrist who is splitting her time between seeing patients and spreading her message about addiction.
