SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A gift from the Sioux Falls Education Foundation is going to help students one of the cities’ Spanish Immersion schools.
It will allow students to truly immerse themselves in the language in a way you might not expect. KELOLAND Media Group Vice President and General Manager Jay Huizenga and his granddaughter Emmy presented the grant.
The money will buy a special table to help kids learn Spanish.
“It’s a table that lights up from underneath,” Kindergarten teach Rachel Rivera said. “Students use manipulatives to create patterns, to create words, to create addition and subtraction problems, it can change colors and so it just really draws their attention and they get really excited about using it.”
“This table is going to allow the kids to talk more about Spanish to see the world to see the world in their own roles,” Kindergarten Teacher Hilda Esperanza Langle said.
Huizenga presented it on behalf of KELOLAND Media Group.
