Johnson Wins GOP Nomination For U.S. House

South Dakota voters have chosen Dusty Johnson as the Republican nominee for U.S. House from South Dakota.

With 683 of 685 precincts reporting (99.71 percent), Johnson holds a strong lead with 47 percent of the votes (40,665). Shantel Krebs had 29 percent of the votes (24,478), while Neal Tapio finished with 24 percent (20,705).

Throughout his campaign, Johnson has focused on maintaining strong agriculture in South Dakota and across the nation. Johnson also advocated freedom to practice a chosen faith, and the right to keep and bear arms.

Johnson will square off against Democratic candidate Tim Bjorkman, Libertarian candidate George Hendrickson and Independent candidate Ron Wieczorek in the general election will take place on November 6.
