Hearing Held In Constitution Candidates’ Lawsuit Against South Dakota Secretary Of State

Two Constitution party candidates went to federal court on Thursday as part of their efforts to get on South Dakota’s November ballot.

Lora Hubbel and Matt Johnson are suing Secretary of State Shantel Krebs.  They claim South Dakota’s Republican Party meddled in the process. They say it’s unconstitutional for Krebs to leave their names off the ballot.

Late last week, the state responded and asked that the lawsuit be dismissed.  That didn’t happen.

KELOLAND’s Brady Mallory is in the courtroom for the hearing; he’ll have details on what was said coming up on KELOLAND News.
