S.D. confirms its youngest patient with vaping-related lung disease


PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — South Dakota is confirming its youngest patient with vaping-related lung disease.

On Thursday, health officials reported two new cases in the state. One of the patients is a 16-year-old. The new cases bring the statewide total to 11. The patients in South Dakota range in age from 16 to 44.

Nationally, more than a thousand people have gotten sick. The youngest patient is just 13 years old. The CDC says 18 people have died.
