Active cases and current hospitalizations are up in South Dakota, according to the state department of health.
According to the latest update, 264 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 117,759 up from Tuesday (117,495).
There are104 current hospitalizations as of Wednesday, up from 95 on Tuesday. Total hospitalizations are at 7,005
Active cases are now at 2,522, up from Tuesday (2,436).
No new deaths reported by the department of health. The death toll remains at 1,935.
Total recovered cases are now at 113,302, compared to Tuesday (113,124).
Total persons who tested negative is now at 326,817, from Tuesday (326,102).
There were 979 new persons tested in the data reported on Wednesday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 26.9%.
The latest seven-day all test positivity rate reported by the DOH is 9.7%. The latest one-day PCR test positivity rate is 11.3%.
According to the DOH, 209,055 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered with 8,198 doses of the Janssen vaccine and 193,249 of the Moderna vaccine given out to a total number of 252,751 persons.
There have been 8,198 persons who have completed two doses of Moderna and 83,809 who have received two doses of Pfizer, according to the DOH.
When combining state and federal vaccine distribution, the state estimates 42.8% of the population has received at least one dose and 28.4% have received both doses.
Tuesday, March 30
Two new deaths were reported by the South Dakota Department of Health as hospitalizations increased on Tuesday.
The two deaths reported were women in the 60-69 age range. The death toll is at 1,935.
According to the latest update, 159 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 117,495 up from Monday (117,336).
While the difference in the total case count reported Tuesday and Monday equals 159, when you add the PCR, or newly confirmed, cases (118) and antigen, or new probable, cases (47), there were 165 new cases.
There are 95 current hospitalizations as of Tuesday, up from 91 on Monday. Total hospitalizations are at 6,985.
Active cases are now at 2,436, up from Monday (2,393).
Total recovered cases are now at 113,124, up from Monday (113,010).
Total persons negative is now at 326,102, from Monday (325,754).
There were 507 new persons tested in the data reported on Tuesday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 31.3%.
The latest seven-day all test positivity rate reported by the DOH is 10.1%. The latest one-day PCR test positivity rate is 9.4%.
According to the DOH, 205,269 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered with 8,033 doses of the Janssen vaccine and 190,879 of the Moderna vaccine given out to a total number of 249,042 persons.
There have been 72,683 persons who have completed two doses of Moderna and 82,447 who have received two doses of Pfizer, according to the DOH.
When combining state and federal vaccine distribution, the state estimates 42.26% of the population has received at least one dose and 28.00% have received both doses.

No new deaths were reported by the South Dakota Department of Health as hospitalizations increased on Monday.
According to the latest update, 92 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 117,336 up from Sunday (117,244).
There are 91 current hospitalizations as of Monday, up from 80 on Sunday. Total hospitalizations are at 6,971.
Active cases are now at 2,393, down from Sunday (2,412).
Total recovered cases are now at 113,010, from Sunday (112,899).
Total persons negative is now at 325,754, from Sunday (325,514).
There were 332 new persons tested in the data reported on Monday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 27.7%.
The latest seven-day all test positivity rate reported by the DOH is 10.3%. The latest one-day PCR test positivity rate is 11.0%.
According to the DOH, 203,874 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered with 8,033 doses of the Janssen vaccine and 190,159 of the Moderna vaccine given out to a total number of 248,063 persons.
There have been 72,285 persons who have completed two doses of Moderna and 87,710 who have received two doses of Pfizer, according to the DOH.
When combining state and federal vaccine distribution, the state estimates 41.96% of the population has received at least one dose and 27.59% have received both doses.

No new deaths were reported by the South Dakota Department of Health as hospitalizations increased on Sunday.
According to the latest update, 163 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 117,244 up from Saturday (117,081).
There are 80 current hospitalizations as of Sunday, up from 77 on Saturday. Total hospitalizations are at 6,694, an increase of 13 over Saturday.
Active cases are now at 2,412, down from Saturday (2,443).
Total recovered cases are now at 112,899, up from Saturday (112,705).
Total persons negative is now at 325,514, up from Saturday (325,100).
There were 577 new persons tested in the data reported on Saturday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 28.24%.
The latest seven-day all test positivity rate reported by the DOH is 10.3%. The latest one-day PCR test positivity rate is 10.5%.
According to the DOH, 201,654 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered with 7,957 doses of the Janssen vaccine and 189,197 of the Moderna vaccine given out to a total number of 246,577 persons.
There have been 80,398 persons who have completed two doses of Moderna and 71,825 who have received two doses of Pfizer, according to the DOH.
When combining state and federal vaccine distribution, the state estimates 41.74% of the population has received at least one dose and 27.32% have received both doses.
Saturday, March 27
Five new deaths were reported by the South Dakota Department of Health, as hospitalizations increased on Saturday.
According to the latest update, 255 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 117,081 up from Friday (116,833).
While the difference in the total case count reported Saturday and Friday equals 248, when you add the PCR, or newly confirmed, cases (191) and antigen, or new probable, cases (64), there were 255 new cases.
The death toll increased by five to 1,933. The new deaths were 2 men and 3 women in the following age ranges: 60-69 (1), 70-79 (2), 80+ (1).
There are 77 current hospitalizations as of Saturday, up from 74 on Friday. Total hospitalizations are at 6,951, an increase of 24 over Friday.
Active cases are now at 2,443, down from Friday (2,480).
Total recovered cases are now at 112,705, up from Friday (112,425).

There were 1,011 new persons tested in the data reported on Saturday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 25.22%.

According to the DOH, 197,885 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered with 7,244 doses of the Janssen vaccine and 187,057 of the Moderna vaccine given out to a total number of 242,294 persons.
There have been 70,760 persons who have completed two doses of Moderna and 79,120 who have received two doses of Pfizer, according to the DOH.

One new death was reported by the South Dakota Department of Health, as active cases of COVID-19 increased by 52 on Friday.
According to the latest update, 209 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 116,833 up from Thursday (116,624).
While the difference in the total case count reported Friday and Thursday equals 209, when you add the PCR, or newly confirmed, cases (154) and antigen, or new probable, cases (59), there were 213 new cases.
The death toll increased by one to 1,928. The new death is a man in the 50-59 year age range.
There are 74 current hospitalizations as of Friday, the same as on Thursday. Total hospitalizations are at 6,927, an increase of 10 over Thursday.
Active cases are now at 2,480, up from Thursday (2,428).
Total recovered cases are now at 112,425, up from Thursday (112,269).

There were 855 new persons tested in the data reported on Friday for a new persons-tested positivity rate of 24.4%.

According to the DOH, 190,931 doses of the Pfizer vaccine have been administered with 6,836 doses of the Janssen vaccine and 182,329 of the Moderna vaccine given out to a total number of 236,257 persons.

Three new deaths were reported by the South Dakota Department of Health, as active cases of COVID-19 increased on Thursday.
According to the latest update, 254 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 116,624 up from Wednesday (116,370).
While the difference in the total case count reported 116,624 (Thursday) and 116,370 (Wednesday) equals 254, when you add the PCR, or newly confirmed, cases 198 and antigen, or new probable, cases 65, there were 263 new cases.
The death toll increased to 1,927. The new deaths announced are two men and one woman in the following age ranges: 70 -79 (1); 80+ (2).

The death toll increased to 1,924. The new death announced was a man in the 70-79 age range from Beadle County.
There are 72 current hospitalizations as of Wednesday, compared to 70 on Tuesday. Total hospitalizations are at 6,893.
Active cases are now at 2,350, up from Tuesday (2,240).
Total recovered cases are now at 112,096, up from Tuesday (111,937).

According to the latest update, 237 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 115,203, up from Wednesday (114,966).
There was a third case of B117 reported in South Dakota on Thursday.
Total recovered cases are now at 111,120, from Wednesday (110,944).
The South Dakota Department of Health reported four new deaths due to COVID-19 in Thursday’s update. The death toll is now at 1,919. The new deaths reported were from Codington, Davison, Minnehaha and Pennington counties and include three men and one woman in the following age ranges: 30 – 39 (1); 50 – 59 (1); 60 – 69 (1); 80+ (1).
