It’s a Thanksgiving staple many of us grew up with.
The woman who created the green bean casserole has died at age 92.
Dorcas Reilly passed away from Alzheimer’s disease.
Campbell Soup officials say the New Jersey woman was the driving force behind the popular dish, made with green beans and cream of mushroom soup and topped with crunchy fried onions.
The company says it’s the most popular recipe ever to come out of its corporate kitchen.
You’ll even find Reilly’s original recipe card at the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Last year alone Campbell Soup says the green bean casserole recipe on its website got 2.7 million visits during the holidays.
