Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are taking the stage at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center on Friday.
Before the nine sold-out concerts, the couple did one-on-one interviews with KELOLAND News.
They say they will not only be singing in Sioux Falls, but also taking time to explore the city.
“We’re going to be doing everything we can, and we have time to do it. That’s the cool thing. It’s not rush in and rush out,” Brooks said.
“I think the pre-game here is like nothing I’ve seen as far as the anticipation and everything I’ve seen on social media,” Yearwood said.
While the couple will be doing a lot of singing and sleeping, they say you might see them around Sioux Falls.
“Restaurants are a big thing. We love hockey rinks and basketball courts and anywhere we can get a bunch of people,” Brooks said.
“We’ll allow the locals to tell us where we should go, what we should see, and where we should eat,” Yearwood said.
So how do you tell them what they should check out? Message them on their social media accounts.
“We’re going to get to enjoy the people. We’re going to get to enjoy the food. This is going to be good,” Brooks said.
Which is why this concert series could be more than a memory for fans.
“It’s full of great people. It reminds you of where you grew up,” Brooks said.
