Fentanyl Now Deadliest Drug In America, CDC Says

Fentanyl is the most deadly drug in the country.

The synthetic opioid was linked to nearly 29-percent of all overdoses in 2016. That’s according to the Centers for Disease Control and prevention’s national center for health statistics.

The data was based on drug overdose death certificates from 2011 through 2016. For three of those years, 2012 through 2015, heroin was the drug most often found in overdose deaths.

The opioid epidemic has certainly had a big impact here in KELOLAND.

On Monday at 8 p.m. CT, KELOLAND News will dig even further into the opioid crisis.

We’ll show you how far this epidemic has spread, as well as tell you where and how to get treatment for yourself or a loved one.
