Fans Ecstatic For The First Garth Brooks Concert

The Garth Brooks festivities kicked off at 4 p.m. with a pre-show party at the arena. Fans had the chance to get to the concert early, have food and drinks, and even take pictures in a photo booth.

“It was very much fun, they were playing good music in there, had food and drinks and they had someone go around with a big picture of Garth and get your picture taken with it, so it’s a lot of fun,” said Colleen Knutson.

Fans traveled to Sioux Falls from all over to see the country music icon and his wife Trisha Yearwood perform.

“I mean it’s funny, that you would drive all the way from Dallas, Texas when he’s from Oklahoma and we would, I mean, Yukon, and so, well Yukon, Oklahoma, and that we would come all the way up here, but’s well worth it,” said Linda Fredrickson.

At the PREMIER Center, the doors opened at six for ticket holders and surprisingly tickets weren’t completely sold out tonight.

“My thoughts were, we’ll never get tickets actually. So, but we were, a friend of ours bought tickets and we were able to go with them to the concert,” said Sonya Peterson.

Most of these concert goers are huge fans of Garth and made it a priority to come and see at least one of his shows.

“We are celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary and I had a 50th class reunion on the first of the month and tomorrow he’s having his 50th class reunion in Centerville. So Garth was right in the middle and we thought it would be a great way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary,” said Linda Fredrickson.

“Well I’m just thrilled to finally be here. I didn’t get to go to Minneapolis, so when I heard he was coming to Sioux Falls, I made a big effort to get here to see him,” said Knutson.
