Facebook Cloning Message Isn’t Real

KELO Facebook

Facebook’s latest rumor involves a fake message from a friend.

The message: “‘Hi….I actually got another friend request from you yesterday…which I ignored so you may want to check your account. Hold your finger on the message until the forward button appears…then hit forward and all the people you want to forward too…I had to do the people individually. Good Luck!'” isn’t real.

The message asks you to forward warnings on to other friends, but you don’t need to follow through.

According to Snopes.com, the Facebook cloned account hoax started in October and it preys on warnings about Facebook “pirates”.

KELOLAND News’ Sarah McDonald is looking into this social media confusion; she’ll bring you advice from experts on how to protect your account later on KELOLAND News.
