FAA: Helicopter From Sioux Falls Crashed In Iowa

Investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration are at the scene of a helicopter crash in northwest Iowa.

According to an FAA registry, the aircraft is a Robinson-brand R44 helicopter registered to Ride The Sky Helicopters in Sioux Falls. It was being flown near State Highway 182 and County Highway A20 to find cows that had gotten loose in the area when it struck a powerline and crashed at about 1:10 p.m. Monday between Larchwood and Inwood.

Two people inside the helicopter were seriously hurt in the crash. The aircraft suffered substance damage in what the FAA is classifying as an accident.
