Remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? Two medical offices in Sioux Falls are taking the idea and putting a Christmas spin on it.
Midwest Ear, Nose & Throat and Sioux Falls Family Vision first partnered for this challenge last year.
Businesses are already adding their names and donations to the Eyes & Ears Toy Challenge this year.
“The challenge piece of it really makes it a lot of fun,” Dr. Paul Cink said.
But this challenge is far from over.
Midwest Ear, Nose & Throat and Sioux Falls Family Vision are calling on area businesses to each donate at least 15 new, unwrapped toys for kids by December 14.
“They can be very inexpensive or they can be as expensive as you want,” Dr. Jeff Sayler said.
Here’s the other part.
Once your business shows that you’ve completed the challenge on Facebook, you are supposed to challenge three other businesses on the social media site.
Last year’s event brought in hundreds of toys for kids.
The people behind the challenge want to do the same this year.
“We’d love to give as many gifts as we can. We’d love to be overwhelmed to get out and give these gifts out so we want to do that again,” Cink said.
You can drop the toys off at one of the two offices.
They will later be distributed to The Banquet and Children’s Inn.
“We want to kind of concentrate on a little bit of fun, so moms and dads can take a little bit off of their plate and so the kiddos can have a little more fun for Christmas,” Sayler said.
If you’re not a business, but you still want to take part, you’re welcome to drop off presents too.
