PREVIEW: Watching For Emerald Ash Borer


The emerald ash borer has already invaded the eastern part of South Dakota, and there is evidence that the small beetle that kills ash trees is steadily moving westward.

What are West River cities doing to prepare for the coming invasion?  Some are making plans to treat certain trees they want to keep.  Others are planning to cut down certain ash trees as a preemptive way to make it difficult for the beetle to spread.
