PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — In just a matter of months South Dakota will have some new troopers.
A class of 12 just completed months of academy training in Pierre.
Louie Plunkett moved here from Arizona for the opportunity to be a trooper.
“My wife and I decided we wanted a better life for our kids, and we wanted four seasons because we’d never had four seasons, so we started looking at the Midwest,” Plunkett said.
Next the recruits must do field training.
Coming up in Tuesday’s Eye on KELOLAND we’ll give you a look at what it takes to become a trooper.
