PREVIEW: More Teens Dealing With Anxiety, Depression

Eye on KELOLAND

More American teens and children than ever before are struggling with anxiety and depression.

According to recent research, the number is now more than one in every 20 kids.

Avera Clinical Therapist Larry Ling says he’s noticed the increase in Sioux Falls. He thinks a lot of it has to do with social media.

“The severity of types of issues coming to us now at outpatient is way different than when I started 30 years ago,” Ling said.

What’s behind the disturbing trend, and what are some signs your child needs help?

We’ll look into those questions on Wednesday’s EYE on KELOLAND.
