RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO) — Built in 1915, a fire station on Rapid City’s main street was home to many firemen in its day.
Now, it’s home to the Firehouse Brewing Company. The restaurant keeps the building’s history alive by preserving some of its unique features.
“I believe it’s all about respect, when we are driving by that station sometimes at night we will blast the horn just to let our bearers know that we remember them,” Jeff Baur, Rapid City Firefighter, said.
On Friday’s Eye on KELOLAND, Sydney Thorson, talks with firefighters and the restaurant to dig deeper into the building’s history.
