The HP uses a plane as an extra tool for certain missions. It can help the agency enforce speed laws, search for missing persons, and find suspects who may be on the run.
“Something like an aircraft can be a force multiplier in that it can do the work of several people on the ground. So, if we’re calling a pursuit or something, we can make the job safer for the other officer on the ground by following it from the air,” Sara Schumacher said.
