PREVIEW: A new perspective

Eye on KELOLAND

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Drones can be used for a variety of reasons, including public safety.

The Sioux Falls Police Department started its U-A-S program earlier this year.

The technology can give them a different perspective when they respond to calls.

“Searching for people, tactical SWAT calls, missing kids or missing people type calls. It’s an extra tool for us to use to get an aerial view of different incidents that happen in Sioux Falls,” Kevin Henkel said.

Coming up in tonight’s Eye on KELOLAND, we’ll show you how drones are becoming more useful for law enforcement.
