SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Students all over KELOLAND are graduating.

High school seniors from the Sioux Falls public schools walked across the stage at the Sioux Falls Arena to accept their diplomas Sunday.

It’s a big day for Sioux Falls high school seniors as they walk up to accept their diplomas.

“It’s pretty nerve-wracking but it’s also awesome, like four years going through high school and then all of a sudden it’s over, and we get to move on to the next chapter in our life, so that’s pretty cool,” Nadia Claussen said.

“I’ve been so excited for this for the last 13 years of my life, and it really feels like this is like the finale of everything that’s to come. I feel like it’s the beginning of the rest of my life,” Tatiana Chance said.

“It’s crazy to see that some of these kids are people we went to elementary school with and now we’re kind of all moving on,” Alexis Notestine said.

Some are going off to a 4-year college.

“I’m going to SDSU for pre-chiropractic and exercise science,” Ezra Revoir said.

“I’m going to USD for pre-med and then I plan on joining the Army as well, so I can someday become a surgeon.” Claussen said.

“I will be going down to USD to nursing and pre-med and the honors program,” Notestine said.

Others are going to a tech or trade school.

“I’m heading out to Southeast Tech for invasive cardiovascular tech,” Chris Miller said.

While some want to jump into the workforce.

“I am planning on becoming a real estate agent, and I am looking at different places to go there,” Chance said.

Despite choosing different paths, the graduates agree that they’re excited to take a step into this next chapter.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s to come,” Chance said.

“Just getting ahead in life. Making it to the next step to the future,” Revoir said.

“I’m excited to see what the future brings,” Miller said.

“Probably just the future, have some fun,” Devonte Murphy said.

Over 1,500 Sioux Falls high school students graduated Sunday.

Taking a closer look at the numbers: 87 students graduated from New Technology High School, 496 are graduating from Roosevelt, 429 from Washington and 494 from Lincoln.
