Eagle Butte Woman Gets Nearly Three Years For Vicious Attack

KELO Scales of Justice court

An Eagle Butte woman has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for an assault that seriously injured another woman.

The U.S. attorney’s office says 34-year-old Lynsi Bad Warrior in April 2017 punched the woman 16 times and kicked her 14 times, including in the head, while the woman lay on the ground defenseless.

Authorities say Bad Warrior had been drinking. They didn’t provide further details on the incident in Eagle Butte.

Bad Warrior pleaded guilty in March to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. She was recently sentenced to 34 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.
