SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It was a bit of an unusual scene in Sioux Falls Thursday morning.

You may be wondering why there are three people along with a net and a coat all focused on a duck and her babies. So what is all the commotion about?

KELOLAND’s Perry Groten went there to find out. He’ll bring you the story you won’t want to miss Thursday on KELOLAND news.

As the warmer weather returns to KELOLAND, so do the chances to interact with wild animals.

The Outdoor Campus is sending out a reminder to leave wild animals alone. In a social media post, the Outdoor Campus said someone brought in a ring neck snake found in their basement. The Outdoor Campus said it does not keep animals taken for the outdoors and they released the snake.

The motto is “If you care, leave it there.”

Staff at Dow Rummel was prepared for its annual visit from a mother duck and her ducklings. KELOLAND News will have coverage on that story online and on-air Thursday.
