Daisy’s Back: Days After Fire Destroys Home, Lost Dog Is Found

News

It’s been just over a week since a fire destroyed a home outside of Parker, but the family lost more than just their house in recent days. A week after their home burned, the Cunningham family’s dog Daisy ran away. Despite the heartbreak, Monday they got news to be thankful for.

“We didn’t want to get our hopes up, and have our hearts hurt again,” Kacie Cunningham said.

But Monday they received a gift thanks to a Facebook post.

“Local farmer out of Canton saw her running in a parking lot and picked her up,” Kacie’s husband Joe Cunningham said.

“I just want to thank everybody for the, looking for Daisy and praying for us,” Kacie Cunningham said.

Now their little girl Millie has her friend back.

“Millie and her are best buddies, so she’s pretty excited,” Kacie Cunningham said.

This family’s been through a lot recently.

“It’s up and down, to be honest,” Joe Cunningham said. “Sometimes you, when you’re distracted you feel just fine. And then you remember what happened and it’s just, it feels crushing.”

They’re looking forward and planning to rebuild where they lost their home.

“Honestly, I’ve felt blessed,” Kacie Cunningham said. “Just, it’s funny to say, but with all the support, and that we have her and each other, so that’s all we really need. It makes you really realize what’s important.”
