Dairy Queen, Orange Julius & Karmelkorn Closing At Empire Mall

Another business will be closing at The Empire Mall.

The last day the Dairy Queen, Orange Julius and Karmelkorn Shoppe will be open is Sunday.

The franchisee says his ten year lease is up, the Karmelkorn brand is going away, and mall traffic has been down.

“It has been quieter here since around 2015. I started working at the mall with Taco Johns in the 1980s and opened Dairy Queen here in 1993,” Franchise Owner Dan Radigan said.

Radigan will continue to own a steakhouse in Burbank called Whimp’s.

“The hardest thing about closing will be not seeing the customers and employees. I’ve made a lot of great relationships over the years,” Radigan said.
