After Hot Summer Nights was rained-out, Downtown Sioux Falls businesses are hoping for a better weekend as Crazy Days kicks off.
KELOLAND News looked at how the shopping extravaganza will help business bounce back.
Downtown businesses are forecasting sunnier skies after Hot Summer Nights was a wash.
The saving grace… Crazy Days. It’s just what owner of 605 Running Company Greg Koch is looking forward to.
“Downtown events are great, they increase foot traffic and it’s always a great opportunity to succeed at what we do. And we definitely appreciate the opportunities to get in front of more people,” Koch said.
The weekend will bring big sales for dozens of downtown shops.
“Crazy days is aptly named. It’s really crazy down here. It’s a great opportunity for us to really succeed in turning our inventory and get ready for the Fall season,” Koch said.
“It’s our busiest weekend of the summer. And it just so happens it coincides with JazzFest, it’s fun for people to come get good deals,” Nancy Savage said =.
Savage says she’s grateful Hot Summer Nights drew in crowds early from out of town.
Otherwise, the car show’s cancellation could have been a big loss.
This weekend, she’ll not only be setting up for a successful sale, but some sunshine, too.
“You look at the streets and they’re full. Our city has a pulse downtown,” Savage said.
