It’s the weekend before the Fourth of July and people across KELOLAND are spending the weekend camping.
KELOLAND News went to a campsite outside of Canistota where we talked to campers celebrating the fourth in advance.
People were out enjoying the nice weather at Lake Vermillion this Fourth of July weekend.
With the Fourth being in the middle of the week, many were celebrating the holiday early.
Campers were kayaking and playing in the lake while others were relaxing by their campsites.
Families were also picnicking and riding bikes.
Richard Cink was camping with his family.
He hopes to use this weekend to de stress.
“Now anymore it’s just kick back and relax. We used to do the fireworks and the big picnics but, it’s just a chance to get away and enjoy being outside,” camper Richard Cink said.
Most of the campsites at Lake Vermillion were sold out.
However, people could still buy a day pass.
