Sunday Boredom Busters: August 5th

Enjoy a day of entertainment, food, exhibits and carnival rides at the Sioux Empire Fair.  Today's hours are from 10 a.m. to midnight at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. .  Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children, free for kids five and under.  Sherwin Linton provides the Front Porch entertainment with performances at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.  Hairball with PopRocks is the free grandstand entertainment at 8 p.m.

The Sioux River Folk Festival wraps up today at Newton Hills State Park near Canton.  Workshops begin at 10 a.m.  Musicians perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Admission is $5, plus a park entrance license.  Children 14 and under are free.

The Fulda Art & Music Festival features arts and crafts booths, live music food and kids activities.  The free event goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Fulda, MN city park.

The Sioux Empire Municipal Band wraps up its free summer concert series with a performance at 8 p.m. at Terrace Park.

Wilde Prairie Winery in Brandon is hosting Sunday in the Vineyard.  Bring a lounge chair and enjoy live music and South Dakota beer and wine from 2-5 p.m.  Admission is free.

Pack a picnic lunch and head out to Strawbale Winery in Renner for Sangria Sunday.    Enjoy live music and South Dakota summer wines from 1-4 p.m.  Admission is $5 a person or $10 per carload.

Sioux Empire Pit Rescue is hosting Run For The Pack, a 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run at Pasley Park in Sioux Falls.  Registration is at 8:15 a.m.  The race begins at 9 a.m.  There will also be a meet & greet from 8 to 10 a.m.  

The Madison Car Show at Prairie Village features several classes of street rods, pickups, muscle cars and motorcycles.  The show starts at 11 a.m.  Awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m.  Admission is $6 for adults, $2 for children.  Prairie Village season passes will be honored.  

Cool-off during this hot weekend at the City of Sioux Falls outdoor pools.  The pools and aquatic centers are open this afternoon and evening.  Frank Olson pool will close for the season after tonight.

Riverside Park Days features craft and food vendors, live music and children's activities in Flandureau's city park.  The hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is free.

Take a stroll along the sidewalks and enjoy the artistry of SculptureWalk 2018.  57 sculptures are on display in downtown Sioux Falls as well as the Uptown and East Bank business districts.  Start your tour at the SculptureWalk Visitor Center in the Washington Pavilion.
