A longtime locally-owned jewelry store will soon have a new owner.
Thomas Faini is buying Bechtold Jewelry in downtown Sioux Falls.
The Bechtold family has owned the store along Phillips Avenue for 116 years.
It’s one of the longest locally-owned jewelry stores in the area.
Faini’s father, Larry, actually moved to Sioux Falls to be a goldsmith for jewelry stores, including Bechtold.
Faini also works in jewelry design and repair.
“We’re the last jewelry store open along Phillips Avenue. We really didn’t want to close the business, so we’re so glad we were able to make this work,” Paul Bechtold said.
KELOLAND’s Casey Wonnenberg is going to take a look at the history of the longtime Sioux Falls business Friday night on Your Money Matters.
