Ballot Counting Goes As Planned

News

Ballot counting at the Minnehaha County Auditor’s office went smoothly tonight.

All the precincts had their ballots in quickly and about 30 volunteers were on hand to help with the counting.

While the machines had to be stopped a few times to remove stuck ballots, it didn’t slow down the process much. All precincts were counted by shortly after 9:30.

Tuesday’s voter turnout was nearly 32 percent. That’s up from about 30 percent in the election last month.
