Investigators say speed and alcohol were factors in a weekend rollover that injured two people north of Sioux Falls.
The crash, involving a Dodge Daytona, happened Sunday afternoon on North Kiwanis. Minnehaha County authorities say the driver, Duane Mellama, will likely face DUI charges. Investigators say he was going at least 100 mph at the time of the crash.
“We have the data from the car, the computer in the car. There’s approximately 41 pages of data that come out of that, so we’re going through that to see g-force and speed.”
A 29 year-old woman who was a passenger in the car was also injured, but is expected to recover. The state’s attorney’s office is deciding on charges connected with the crash.
