‘Artisans for Animals’ Raises Money For Humane Society

It’s a much needed boost in donations for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, after the shelter said it was nearly out of dog and cat food this week.

Local artists set up shop at the 8th and Railroad Center today for “Artisans for Animals.”

Instead of charging booth fees, organizers asked local artists to give a free will donation.

“I’ve been kind of in the area and meeting makers and going to these events and kind of wanted to start something of our own that was fun and also gave back to the community,” event organizer Tony Hewitt said.

On top of raising money for the shelter, the event also brought in food donations for the humane society.

If you missed out today, you still have two more chances to check out the event.

It will also be held on July 14th and August 11th.
