Arrest Warrant Issued In Connection With Infant Death

News

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 22-year-old woman in connection with the death of a 4-month-old in Sioux Falls.

Authorities are searching for Angelia Berg, who is the mother of the little girl who died. Police say she is wanted for abuse to a minor, contributing to the neglect of a child and using meth around a child.

Investigators say Berg was drinking at a house along the 1000 block of North Dakota Ave. Tuesday night. The infant was with her at the time.

When she woke up, the child was unresponsive. The 4-month-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers have already questioned Berg, but didn’t issue the warrant until later.

“We don’t know where she’s staying or where she lives and that’s part of the problem. We had officers that were checking different addresses and didn’t have any luck and so we’re still looking for her,” Officer Sam Clemens said.

Anyone with information on Berg’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
