Two dozen lawmakers in Pierre want the 45th President of the United States to visit South Dakota.

They introduced Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 1 on Friday to invite President Donald Trump to visit Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse.

“The South Dakota Legislature hereby invites President Donald J. Trump to visit the great State of South Dakota and to spend time in the Black Hills viewing Mount Rushmore, America’s shrine of democracy, and the emerging carving of Crazy Horse,” the resolution said

The resolution cites many U.S. Presidents have visited Mount Rushmore. They also said Crazy Horse would be a spot to visit because of the impact of Native Americans on South Dakota.

The resolution requests Trump to visit on or around July 4. It also asks Gov. Dennis Daugaard and the Congressional delegation to promote the visit.
