Campaign Spending In The Mayoral Race

If you live in Sioux Falls, it’s easy to see the upcoming mayoral election from the billboards to yard signs and television ads.

KELOLAND News wanted to look at how much money goes into this race. We went through all of the campaign finance reports from the city as of last week.

They show nearly half a million dollars has been spent on this election.

The candidates spending the most money are Jim Entenman with nearly a quarter of a million dollars, that’s almost as much money as Mayor Mike Huether spent during his first and second elections.

Paul Tenhaken has spent nearly $140,000 and Greg Jamison spent just over $63,000.

Jolene Loetscher, the only woman in the race, has spent almost $39,000. Kenny Anderson, Jr has spent a little over $15,000 and Mike Gunn has spent almost $3,000.

In 2014, Mayor Huether spent $170,104 while Greg Jamison spent $58,234.
