From extreme flooding in the east to blizzard conditions and drifting in the west, this storm has pounded everyone in our viewing area. We’ve sent new crews to as many areas as safely possible. But we also rely on you, our viewers, to show us what’s happening in your area.
First, we take you to Pierre where blowing and drifting snow has been the story of the day. Cindy captured several videos of the blowing snow in her neighborhood.
Next we head just west of Warner where it doesn’t look like the Haselhorsts are going anywhere Thursday!
“Awesome,” Amy said on the video.
Bruce sent us this photo of the gigantic drifts in Gettysburg. As you can see the snow drifts are nearly reaching the roof of this house.
People also have to dig their way out of their homes in Mobridge. Eric sent us a collection of photos from the drifts surrounding his home.
Darci took this picture of drifting for us right outside of her front door in Akaska.
Brianna sent us this of the snow drift in her driveway in Glenham, but says her dogs are loving the weather.
Kelly captured the flooding in Armour. She took these photos after heavy rain left a lot of the town under floodwaters.
People in Armour are dealing with flooded basements and stalled cars.
Kathy sent us photos of flooding by the SDSU Frisbee Golf park in Brookings.
And finally, Karla Hofkamp tells us she is keeping her “South Dakota optimism” alive during this March storm. Summer can’t be far off–right?
