2 Patrol Troopers Injured In Pursuit Of A Stolen Vehicle In SF

A law enforcement pursuit of a stolen vehicle on the west side of Sioux Falls ended with a suspect in custody and two South Dakota Highway Patrol troopers injured.

The pursuit came to an end around 2 a.m. Sunday near 41st and Marion.  According to police, a highway patrol vehicle intentionally rammed the suspect vehicle in order to stop the driver. The driver got out of the car and ran off. 

A trooper was hurt trying to tackle the suspect.  Police released a canine to chase after the suspect, but another trooper was in the dog's path and was bitten.  Troopers were able to arrest the suspect.   

Police say the two troopers who were hurt have minor injuries.
